9:04am
Peter liked feeling the wind through his short hair. It was refreshing, just like the fresh sea spray in his face. He licked his lips, which were heavily salted.
"Anything yet?" Matt asked, coming through the tinted glass doors of the Galahktikah with mugs of coffee in his hands.
"Not yet, and I wouldn't expect anything. Look up, there's not a cloud in the sky," Peter replied, gladly accepting a steaming mug.
"Yeah, but don't forget, the sky was cloudless last time the snakes fell, too."
"You really want to get me nervous, don't you?"
"Just as long as you don't jump overboard."
"You never know..."
Matt smiled and headed back inside, joining Cooper at the helm.
"Nothing's showing up on our scans," Cooper didn't need Matt to ask.
"Let's just hope it's clear sailing from here on in," Lindsay called from out back, obviously having heard Cooper.
"Uh, guys..." Peter called from out front, a noticeable change in his voice. Anton recognized it as fear.
Anton, Lindsay and Cooper rushed outside. In the horizon, something was falling. Something big. Not the thing Peter would want to see.
"Are all the cameras recording?" Matt asked, joining them outside on the front deck.
Lindsay checked the two on the front deck, Peter being too frozen with fear to do anything but stare. "Yep," she called back to them.
Everyone stood behind Peter on the deck, not saying anything. They wanted to console him, but no words would subdue his fear, and they knew and respected that.
They glided quickly over the water, into what could be imminent doom.
